Hello everyone!  My name is Caleb Brannon, and I am from Puryear, TN where I was raised on my family’s farm.  Being raised on the farm has taught me many lessons, one of which is that I truly believe in the future of agriculture.  This belief has led me to pursue an Agricultural Business degree at Murray State University in Murray, KY.

After I receive my degree I plan to go into the Agricultural Sales Industry.  I believe that this is what I was meant to do.  I look forward to being able to assist agriculturists in running their operations to the best of their ability.

My situation is a little bit different than most other scholarship winners.  Because of where I am located geographically, we actually raise corn, wheat, and soybeans on our farm.  This has allowed me the unique opportunity to be eligible to apply for all three of these commodity scholarships.  I have been blessed to not only been able to apply, but win all three of these as well.

Winning the Jerry Minore Scholarship, as well as the NCGA and ASA Scholarships, has really helped along the process of financing my education.  The agriculture industry as a whole is so generous with their time and funds to support young people in agriculture.  I hope that all of these scholarships will continue on well into the future so that we can continue to help produce new leaders in agriculture.
